We are seeking a Decision Scientist Intern to join our team, applying a data-centric approach to identify, comprehend, and define complex data-related issues across areas like risk, fraud, payments, customer support, and our Mobility and Delivery businesses on the Uber platform. This internship is a 24-week program where you will be integrated into a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, operations specialists, and other data professionals. Your role will focus on improving key performance indicators such as fraud loss reduction, minimizing false positives, lowering contact rates, and boosting operational efficiency. - Expected graduation in 2026 with a B.Tech degree in Computer Science Engineering, Maths & Computing, or Information Technology.
- Hands-on experience with data ETL workflows and creating visualizations using SQL and/or Python.
- A degree, elective coursework, or project work in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative area.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software such as Google Data Studio, Google Sheets, Excel, Python, or Tableau.
- Competence in defining, utilizing, and reporting on performance metrics.
- A demonstrated history of using analytical or statistical methodologies to tackle real-world challenges involving large-scale data.
- Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, and the application of statistical models is advantageous.
