Red Hat is recruiting a Trainee - Associate Software Engineer to join our Bangalore team for a six-month engagement, spanning from June to December 2026. This role involves close collaboration with a seasoned mentor, facilitating the acquisition of technical expertise and practical experience. The successful candidate will also interact with a diverse international team, both locally and globally. This position offers exposure to various projects within Global Engineering, alongside comprehensive training and development in emerging technologies. Potential project areas and learning modules encompass Ansible, RHEL, OpenShift, Artificial Intelligence, and more. Opportunities to engage with tools such as Python, GitHub, Java, Agile methodologies, and JavaScript will also be provided.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree (from the 2026 or 2025 graduating class) in engineering/technology (with a focus on computer science or information technology), science/computer applications, or an equivalent academic credential is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal English communication
- Fundamental understanding of and enthusiasm for Software Engineering, coupled with basic knowledge and an eagerness to apply Python, Golang, or comparable programming languages
- A fervent curiosity, a drive for innovation, and an intrinsic desire to comprehend internal mechanisms
- An aptitude for continuous learning and a proactive approach to contributing within a broader team environment
- Collaborate intimately with a mentor to architect, create, and sustain code utilizing Python, Golang, or analogous programming languages
- Implement novel functionalities, troubleshoot, pinpoint, and monitor issues within Red Hat's product portfolio (including RHEL, OpenShift, or others)
- Engage with extended team members and various departments, such as Quality Engineering, Design, Product Management, or Documentation teams, across the entire product lifecycle
- Cultivate professional connections with fellow skilled interns
