The Core Infrastructure Control Plane division constructs the foundational platforms empowering LinkedIn engineers and operators to securely, efficiently, and intuitively manage extensive infrastructure. We conceptualize and develop the platforms that govern how services are provisioned, configured, deployed, and managed across LinkedIn’s production environments. As an individual contributor, you will spearhead the design and development of robust backend APIs, intuitive and efficient web interfaces, and high-performing, reliably scalable systems. Your technical acumen, product-oriented mindset, and capacity to influence without direct authority will be instrumental in shaping the future of our computing platform.
- Over two years of pertinent professional experience.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Science in Computer Science or a comparable technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in devising end-to-end solutions.
- Comprehensive full-stack software engineering proficiency, encompassing API development with gRPC/GraphQL, architecting and constructing single-page applications, and crafting clean JavaScript within frameworks like React/Angular.
- Familiarity with (and enthusiasm for) current trends and optimal practices in front-end architecture, including aspects like performance, accessibility, security, and usability.
- Proficiency in developing backend services using Java.
- Successful delivery of multiple large-scale projects with inter-team dependencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field that involves programming.
- Practical experience in developing backend services using Java/Go/Python and web development experience featuring object-oriented JavaScript, semantic HTML, and CSS.
- You will scale distributed applications, making architectural trade-offs by applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, writing code, and delivering with efficiency and excellence.
- You will engineer multi-tier scalable, high-volume, high-performing, and dependable user-centric applications that function continuously.
- You will generate top-tier software that is unit tested, peer-reviewed, and regularly committed for continuous integration.
- You will provide technical guidance, driving and implementing superior engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute significant, cross-functional, and company-critical initiatives.
- You will identify, harness, and successfully promote opportunities to boost engineering productivity.
- You will guide junior engineers and interns within the team.
