- Mandatory expertise in Optical Technologies, including DWDM, ROADM, and Line systems.
- Essential knowledge of test automation using Python and various automation testing tools and methodologies.
- Required knowledge and testing proficiency in optical technologies.
- Solid comprehension of customer deployments and operations, with the ability to translate brownfield/greenfield deployments into highly effective test strategies.
- Rapid learner with an adaptable mindset for "grey box" testing, offering strategic on-the-box and off-the-box perspectives that reflect the status of IOS-XR systems.
- Proven experience in test engineering concepts and methodologies, including test planning, test case design, test execution, and test automation.
- Proficiency with Layer-0 and Layer-1 traffic generators and analyzers (e.g., Viavi, Agilent, Spirent, IXIA).
- Exceptional written, verbal communication, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Goal-oriented with a strong sense of accountability, commitment, and responsibility.
- Typically necessitates an MS/BS in EE/CS combined with 1 to 3 years of demonstrable experience.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, familiarity with Linux and contemporary software tools and techniques for development/debugging, and robust software design and development skills.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JCNA/JCIE would be a significant advantage.
- Deliver software with exceptional quality and customer satisfaction, accelerating user adoption.
- Utilize expertise and creativity to recommend innovative products and solutions, applying knowledge of Cisco's business strategies.
- Possess experience in automated end-to-end system/solution testing.
- Engage in the debugging of complex network issues and formulate effective solutions.
- Contribute to network automation, algorithmic thinking, and analytics applications derived from customer use cases.
- Focus on continuous improvement and transformation, employing scientific, data-driven testing methods.
- Effectively collaborate with global teams, engaging in direct customer interaction and stakeholder management.
- Develop Python automation test plans that outline the automation strategy and test cases for new features, solution testing, and system testing.
