As an Associate Software Engineer I, your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining features for the Ally product. You will also communicate and collaborate across functions with product and software development teams. This position focuses on an ethical product, leveraging Scala for the backend and JavaScript for the frontend. Our applications are hosted on the AWS cloud, and we utilize Git for version management. You will be part of a distributed team, working with colleagues from around the world.
- Up to two years of applicable professional experience.
- Background in frontend development with Angular/TypeScript.
- Knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle.
- Experience in the development, building, testing, deployment, and operation of applications.
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture.
- Proficiency with backend programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Comprehension of relational database design principles and query languages.
- A mindset geared towards creative problem-solving and iterative improvement.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication.
- Experience in functional programming, for instance with Haskell or Scala.
- Working knowledge of technologies within the AWS cloud ecosystem.
