We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Platform Engineering Division. In this role, you will work on testing and qualifying the AppBattery Platform, a Kubernetes-based platform where most of Akamai’s critical applications are deployed. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases, build automation frameworks, and support end-to-end testing.
- Proficiency in Python or other OOP languages
- Hands-on experience with PyTest automation frameworks
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and Git
- Familiarity with REST APIs, SQL, and API testing
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Ability to design, automate, and maintain test cases
- Hands-on with Unix command line and Shell scripting
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
- Design, develop, and execute test scenarios and test cases for AppBattery applications
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and tools
- Perform functional (integration, system) and non-functional (usability, performance, security) testing
- Conduct manual testing of newly developed applications when required
- Collaborate with engineering teams through code reviews, design discussions, and product development cycles
- Ensure product requirements are covered as part of the testing process
- Troubleshoot, debug, and ensure resilient, scalable, and optimal software releases
